Terrible Toll

Terrible Toll

Ding sounds the ringside bell.
I stumble back into the fray.
Though it be my private hell,
I refuse to loose today.

I await a world beyond the veil,
Where scars and pain do cease,
Whose kind sun does not pale,
And life's trials bloom into peace.

And so to every weary soul,
This is what I say.
Though trials exact a terrible toll,
The coins are your's some day.
