Thoughts on the night sky.
Although unnecessary to appreciate a sky full of stars, my rudimentary understanding of physics in no way lessons the awe of the night sky but rather enlivens my imagination. Does the star I see have a planet? Is the star still there or do I see the light from a star that died thousands of years ago? How many people on earth are looking at the sky the same time I am? Are there beings on distant planets who see our sun as a star in their sky? And you would have to be well traveled to understand why I wonder if there are coke machines on other planets.
