Laurel Wreath

Laurel Wreath

Some days when I brush my teeth,
I feel I deserve a Laurel Wreath.
Because of my peculiar woes,
It exhausts me from head to toes.

The God Dilemma

The God Dilemma

You may think it odd,
But put yourself in the place of God,
Receiving billions of petitions each day,
From both believers and atheists who pray.

Sports players and fans,
Family holding a dying hand,
The suffering for help to God implore,
As do generals planning a war.

I can understand denying requests for wealth,
But why deny prayers for health?
Why allow an innocent to suffer?
While evil men feast on caviar for supper.

I can not understand God,
His ways can seem slipshod.
But if they end in Paradise,
That would be so very nice.

The Commendable Ant

The Commendable Ant

The ant has earned,
A Biblical commendation.
Notwithstanding,
I shan't,
want an ant,
at my vacation.

Vulture's Culture

Vulture's Culture

It is obvious that a vulture,
Knows nothing of etiquette or culture.
Humans too eat raw, dead meat,
But we never eat it off the street.

Science Friction

Science Friction

Of Dangerous species,
Mosquitos top the list.
Should we cause their extinction,
By introducing a genetic twist?

Trials have been conducted,
On an Island or two,
Releasing mutated males,
Whose offspring's days are few.

Should we annihilate a species?
Amongst scientists there is friction,
I suggest we make our scientists,
Read some science fiction.

Looking Down

Looking Down

Some climb a mountain for the joy of the view,
Others climb ladders to look down on me and you.

Temporal Iniquity

Temporal Iniquity

Is wishing for tomorrow a sin?
Because you wouldn't want today over again?
