Chronic Illness

Chronic Illness

Sliding downhill,
Is such a thrill,
Unless that hill is health,
And a crash all thrill will kill.

Alas there are no brakes,
On a sled you see,
You must risk all limbs,
To avoid the tree.

If you survive the crash,
And try to climb,
One step at a time,
After each step a slide.

With all your strength,
With all your will,
Despite miles of steps,
You are still sliding downhill.

  1. You and my boy, Scott. My prayers go out for both day in and day out. The words written here are so true for both of you. But I believe prayer changes things, so I continue , "Father, I pray that it be your will to heal Scott and Richard, in Christ's name. Amen".
